I can’t imagine Asheville without an art distric

I can’t imagine Asheville without an art district. That doesn’t feel right at all. What are the possibilities here? Can we create one anew with even more inclusivity? this will require a lot of funding. Where are the angel investors with good intentions to make this happen? When we are in grief, we are in a holy state, and shock needs to have its time. Grief needs to have its space, it’s elongated time. Grief (longing) can be a fertile ground in which we can create from. there is a new kind of spark that can come alive from this. One that is uncharted territory. And also, I can’t stop thinking of the Hot Springs. Are they OK? And also, I really need a hot meal. The baby food didn’t hit it right tonight.

These are the River of thoughts running through my mind. There are neighborhoods surrounded by waterfalls in driveways now. There are whole areas wiped out with mudslides that we haven’t even reported of. I don’t think the magnitude of what has happened can fully settle into our being all at once. We can hold this grief the shock in one hand and this longing to create something better in the other hand. Something at least with a fresh sense of the present moment. Some thing with eyes wide open.
